How to use these guidelines:

What you’ll find with these guidelines is on the lefthand side foods are listed in rows by category, such as legumes, vegetables, etc. Then you will see three groups: one for Vata, Pitta and Kapha. Those three groups are further divided again into two columns per dosha: one that says “favor” and one that says “avoid.” Here’s how it works: if you are trying to pacify Pitta, then you want to eat foods out of the Pitta group and “favor” column. If you eat the ones from the “avoid” column, you’ll simply make your condition worse. Same goes for Vata and Kapha. Make sense?
